Expanded Wastewater Treatment Capacity

The MRI BIO-CEL® MBR installation consists of twenty-eight BC400 modules, totals 120,000 ft2 of membrane area, and delivers targeted flow of 0.3 MGD – 1.7 MGD (6 times peaking factor).

The MRI BIO-CEL® MBR flexible flat sheet installation at the Hünxe, Germany municipal wastewater treatment plant was chosen for its ability to expand existing capacity and generate higher quality effluent.

Targets included:

  • Enlarge capacity of the existing plant to
    17,000 PE
  • Enhance the technical situation and cleaning performance to meet more stringent guidelines for effluent quality

Announced in November 2008, the tender contains MBR plant, sand catcher, and the screen hall including screens.
