That’s enough clean water to serve every
person in the world over 6 glasses of water.

Every. Single. Day.

3 Billon Gallons-Per-Day Treated with MRI Inclined Plate Settlers

Celebrating its 36th year of operation, MRI hit the three billion GPD mark with its high-capacity Inclined Plate Settlers when the Utah Valley Water Treatment Plant in Orem, UT, came online in April, 2014. The installation treats 80 MGD.

Three billion GPD is not only enough clean water to serve every person in the world 6.5 glasses of water, it’s also enough for the average daily water use of:

  • 11% of the U.S.*
  • 23 of the largest cities in the U.S.
  • 93% of the population of California**

1,000 Hoseless Cable-Vac™ Sludge Collectors Installed

Marking another installation milestone, MRI installed its one thousandth Hoseless Cable-Vac™ Sludge Collector at the 2.5 MGD Jefferson, Georgia, Water Treatment Plant. By eliminating the problematic sludge hose and the need for a guide rail, the Hoseless Cable-Vac Sludge Collector has proven to be the most reliable and efficient method of sludge collection, and is preferred by most major engineering firms.

First Installations Set the Stage

The first install of MRI Inclined Plate Settlers—the company’s signature product—was at the City of Arvada, Colorado, Water Treatment Plant in 2001. Still in operation today, MRI Plate Settlers enable the City to decrease its basin size by a factor of eight over non-plate designs and increase treatment flow to 40 MGD.

MRI’s largest installation—and the largest single stainless steel plate settler installation in the U.S.—is the beautiful Miramar Water Treatment Plant in San Diego, CA, with a design flow of 220 MGD.

The first installation of MRI’s patented Hoseless Cable-Vac Sludge Collectors, developed in 2002, was 12 units at the Forest Park, Pennsylvania Water Treatment Plant.

Today, MRI’s installations range in capacity from hundreds of gallons-per-minute to hundreds of millions of gallons-per-day in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, South Korea, and Australia.
